Product Description
In 2019 Carlos Sainz had just left Renault to drive for McLaren alongside rookie Lando Norris.
The team had been in a slump with the previous four years being some of the worst in history for the Woking team.
Carlos Sainz started his Formula 1 career back in 2015, driving for Toro Rosso alongside another rookie; Max Verstappen.
The Spaniard spent nearly three years with the Red Bull junior team before leaving for Renault for the final few races of the 2017 season.
When the move to the French team didn't pay off, Carlos made a move that was considered lateral at the time, but in retrospect moved him up the order significantly.
With an all-new driver line-up, new team principle and new CEO, McLaren embarked on a project to return to the front of the order.
The opening races seemed like the team were very far off, as Carlos didn't finish either of them - however, in the three races that followed the race-winner would start to pick up some serious points and would go on to take 6th place in the Drivers' Championship as well as a podium!
For the Spanish GP, his home race, the local man decided to use a special chrome helmet.
Sainz had a disappointing qualifying, where he was unable to make it out of Q2 - which meant he would struggle having finished qualifying 13th.
In the race, Sainz was unbelievable - the woes of Saturday were gone, and the Spaniard was on fire. His McLaren cut its way past competitors, and he managed to pull of an 8th place finish, just beating out Danil Kvyat.
The 2019 season with McLaren seriously propelled Sainz forward and this is a fantastic memento of that season.
A perfect 1:2 scale replica of the helmet he wore that season, now signed to make it even more special.
