Alonso is widely considered to be one of the best, and most exciting drivers in Formula 1. In 2013, the Spaniard was in his 4th season driving for Ferrari. Having run the 2012 championship campaign right down to the wire the season before, Alonso was back with the Scuderia and hungry for more success. 

This genuine Fernando Alonso race suit was used during the 2013 season, a season that saw the Spaniard come 2nd in the championship. 

Fernando Alonso started the 2013 season with a strong start, finishing the Australian GP 2nd! Alonso would continue this strong start over the next 4 races, where he would take 2 race wins!  

The first race win of the season came at the Chinese Grand Prix. The Spaniard qualified in third position, and when the lights went out, he reacted quickly, getting the jump on Kimi Raikkonen.

Hamilton, who started on pole, was the only car in front. When Hamilton stopped early Alonso took advantage, and the lead. Alonso's pace advantage was clear and he utilised the overcut to take the win from Hamilton.  

Alonso's second and final race win of the 2013 season came at the Spanish GP. Having qualified just 5th, it was clear that the home favourite was going to need to put a shift in to challenge at the front.

As the lights went out, Alonso got a good start and slipstreamed up behind Vettel on the long run-down to Turn 1.

Unable to make a pass, he had to wait until the sweeping right-hander of turn 3 before he could make an overtake - where he went round the outside of not just Kimi Raikkonen, but also Lewis Hamilton!

As the race progressed Alonso made his first pitstop before the two in front of him and managed to undercut Sebastian Vettel for second place.

With just Nico Rosberg in between him and victory, it was inevitable that Magic would be able to pull of a move to take the lead.

Sure enough, he did, but not without some flair. Alonso slipstreamed the German up the pit straight, before dummying to the inside and forcing Rosberg to defend. This left the racing-line free and allowed Fernando to swoop round the outside to take the lead of the race.

From there Alonso lead all the way to the flag. Alonso takes the win in front of his home crowd!  This race suit was used by Alonso, and after using it - the two-time World Champion signed the overalls and addressed it to his mechanics.

The inscription has faded slightly, but the words "Al mio meccanico" are just about visible.

The suit itself is made by Puma, and it features the logos of Ferrari's sponsors, such as Santander, UPS, Shell and of course it has the unmistakeable Ferrari logo.

The modern red & white design is perfectly accented by the red, white & green stripes that flow down the side of the suit - from under the arm to the ankle. The stripes represent the Italian flag, the nationality & identity of Scuderia Ferrari.  

Although it's been over ten years on from the 2013 season, Fernando Alonso is still racing in Formula 1, and no one has forgotten just how good he is. Since the 2013 Spanish GP, Alonso has achieved 17 podiums, but that was his last race win.  

A piece of memorabilia like this is incredibly rare, especially when it has been signed by a one of Formula 1's most legendary drivers.
